Christopher R. Fortier, PharmD, FASHP currently practices at a large academic medical center in Boston, MA. Dr. Fortier received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Connecticut in 2003 and completed both a PGY-1 Practice Residency and a PGY-2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina Medical Center. Chris previously was the Manager of Pharmacy Support and Operating Room Services at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Medical Center and Adjunct Associate Professor with the South Carolina College of Pharmacy.
In 2010, Dr. Fortier was selected to represent South Carolina as a voting member at the ASHP/ASHP Foundation’s Pharmacy Practice Model Initiative Summit. He currently is the UHC Pharmacy Council’s Executive Committee Member-At-Large and previously served 3 years on the University HealthSystem Consortium’s (UHC) Pharmacy Council’s Executive Committee and chaired the Medication Use Informatics and Technology Committee. Dr. Fortier also served on the ASHP New Practitioners Forum Executive Committee for two years, the ASHP Task Force on Organizational Structure, and is an Associate Faculty member for the ASHP Foundation’s Pharmacy Leadership Academy. As a member of the ASHP Practice Managers Section he served as the chair of the sections Leadership Development Advisory Group (2007-2008). In 2013 Dr. Fortier was recognized as a Fellow of ASHP and in 2008 received the ASHP New Practitioner Forum’s Distinguished Service Award.
